Students design, build, analyze, and use artificial intelligence systems that interact with their physical and human surroundings. They research robotics and its role in society, drawing on a variety of engineering disciplines such as computer science, mechanical engineering, computer engineering, electrical engineering, and information and communication technology.
Our students learn to work in teams to accomplish the numerous tasks required to build and operate an autonomous system, such as mechanical design, electronics, programming, computational thinking, and integrating all of the parts. Students will graduate as independent researchers and engineers, and many will go on to become leaders in robotics research in academia, industry, and government.
